Located in northern Indiana is the small town of Kewanna. It is positioned in Fulton County and is one of the smallest communities therein. According to the United States Census Bureau, approximately 597 people were living in Kewanna in 2016. The town is the 3rd smallest community in Fulton County.
Kewanna is named in honor of Potawatomi Chief Kee-Wau-Nay. Native American Indians were the original inhabitants of the area Kewanna is located in. Eventually, European-American settlers moved into the area and began establishing communities and building homes and businesses. In 1847, a post office was opened in Kewanna. Today, a post office still operates in the town. There are many other businesses and organizations located in the town as well. The Kewanna United Methodist Church, Kewanna Police Department, Community State Bank, and other local businesses and organizations operate in the community as well.
Weather in Kewanna varies greatly each season.
