About Rochester, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Rochester is a small city located in northern Indiana. It is positioned in Fulton County and serves as the seat of government therein. Rochester is located about 58 miles west of Fort Wayne, the second largest city in Indiana. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were approximately 6,021 people living in Rochester. It is the second largest community in Fulton County.
Like many Indiana communities, the City of Rochester is located in an area that was originally occupied by Native American Indians. Eventually, European-Americans moved into the area and established a community. On June 11, 1853, Fulton County commissioners began considering to have Rochester incorporated as a town. In July of that same year, Rochester was incorporated as a town. A little over 50 years later the community voted again to reorganize as a city. In 1909, Rochester was organized as the City of Rochester.
Individuals who visit modern-day Rochester will discover the City of Friendship and Pride is home to great festivals, friendly people, quiet parks, and more. Rochester is also home to Lake Manitou. The lake is very popular among boating and fishing enthusiasts during the months of summer. Whether living in the city or passing through, Rochester claims to have something for everyone.
Rochester is located in a climate that experiences four distinct seasons. During the months of winter, daytime temperature highs average in the mid-30s. Temperatures will dip well below freezing at night and in addition to very cool temperatures, snowfall is common. Individuals should hire professional HVAC technicians to install efficient heating systems like heat pumps in their homes. Individuals should also have cooling units installed in their homes. Rochester is not immune to heat waves. Throughout the months of June, July, and August, temperatures can climb to the low-100s. Both heating and cooling systems help residents stay comfortable inside their homes throughout the changing seasons.
